Balut
Balut is a fertilized duck (or chicken) egg which is developed become nearly embryo inside, then it is boiled and eaten in the shell commonly. The word "Balut" in Filipino means wrapped.
If you consider Balut is one of the extreme cuisine in the world then it's not in the several countries in Southeast Asia. You can find it easily in the Philippines whether it is served with beer in the restaurants or sold in the streets.
As I told you above that it is a common food in the Southeast Asia, so beside Philippines you can find Balut in Laos and Thailand as Khai Luk, in Cambodia as Pong tea khon, Vietnam as Hột vịt lộn.
Hákarl
The word Hákarl or kæstur hákarl in Icelandic means fermented shark, so as the meaning of its name hakarl is really Greenland or basking shark which is fermented and hung to dry for four to five months. Can you imagine its smell and taste? Rich of Amonia and originally fishy taste of course.
