Giethoorn, The Water Village

Giethoorn is a car-free village located in the Dutch province of Overijssel. Why it's car-free? Well, it's because Giethoorn village has no roads, all transports are done by water, over one of the many canals. There are also cycling path in this old village.

This Netherlands famous tourist destination also known as "Venice of the North", but I quite disagree. Giethorn village is more like a natural scenery compared to the crowded cultural heritage of the infamous Italian city.

If you had the chance to visit Giethoorn village, a wonderful place to stay is in Hoteld de Harmonie Giethoorn. In this four star hotel you can do a lot of outdoor activities, such as fishing, windsurfing, canoeing, hiking, BBQ, and cycling.
